Kora Advisory information

I'm Ima Raza, and I founded Kora Advisory after more than 15 years working across grassroots organisations, international NGOs, and community-based initiatives in humanitarian contexts in the UK and globally. The idea behind Kora is to support smaller, often overlooked organisations in navigating what can feel like a complex maze. These organisations are frequently expected to meet the same regulatory and programmatic demands as larger, well-resourced NGOs, but without the systems or support to facilitate this.

My experience includes leading and overseeing multi-country programmes, supporting trustees and boards, strengthening governance and safeguarding, and helping teams design, deliver and reflect on programmes. I have worked alongside local partners, senior leadership teams and frontline staff, and understand the pressures organisations face as they try to balance accountability, delivery and care alongside pressures on the ground. Much of my career has revolved around supporting organisations through growth, crisis and transition, often where systems are overstretched, risks are real, and decisions matter deeply for people's lives.

The way I work is shaped by practice, not just theory, and by experience of navigating power, ethics and responsibility in humanitarian and NGO work. It's tough to hold on to the original values under the weight of compliance, funding demands or rapid growth, but it is possible!

Kora is here to support your organisation build clarity, confidence and systems, helping you meet your responsibilities without losing the relationships, purpose and connections to the communities you serve.
